hello there, i was wondering if someone here can help me.
i just built a new PC and when it is turned on and the memory has been tested it says it is single channel 64 bit. My mobo is a NFORCE4-a939 and this suports dual memory so does anyone know why this is happening. also should it be 64 bit or 128 bit. here is my setup, if u need to know anything else then let me know!
-NFORCE4-A939
-2x512mb ddr 400 3200 RAM (3.2 GB/sec DUAL CHANNEL, 2.5 Volt Module,
DIMM (DUAL IN-LINE MEMORY 32 X 8) Non-ECC, Non-Parity, Unbuffered,
CAS Latency 2.5
-amd 64bit 3500
-nvidia 6600 turbo
-SATA 200 gb maxtor diamond back

May be the Memory itself are mismatched or the fact they are unbuffered as that may be a requirement on your Board. As for your 128bit question I dunno I thought that would be a Dual Proccessor issue as in a Server not a PC.

no they are both the same modules and are a suported make, do u have to load them into certain ram slots or something? or is there a setting in the bios?

You may be on to something there in the slots as for the bios ,I think the board architecture already has it but here is a link on Memory that may be helpful to you I have not built such a Monster yet but am planning on it soon.http://www.cpuplanet.com/features/article.php/1545791

Just checked with a friend and he said if you have Green Slots and Purple Slots then put the Memory in the Green . Don't know bout any bios changes that need to be done.

Well apparently there is some dispute over the colors as in Slots 1 & 3 are one channel, 2 & 4 are the other. So check your MOBO specs and you are right in thinking that the memory sticks Do have to be in ther same Channel.

I was gonna say the same thing. I just recently build an nforce4 chipset box for a friend with an A8N board by Asus.
The RAM slots are 1/3 &2/4 on that board as well......
