Wich is better:
Norton Internet Security 2005 or McAfee Internet Security Suite 7.0 2005
I find both to create more problems then they solve.
I prefer a good hardware firewall, Active AV software and periodic runs of spyware cleaners to work well.
But others will check in.

Noppid is right. A good hardware firewall is your best 1st line of defense. If you use a dsl/cable router you have one built in.
For an extra line of defense the best software firewall out there is Zonealarm www.zonelabs.com The free version will do just fine. It works better than Norton or McAffee and the price is right. If I had to choose between the 2 you're wondering about, they are both equal in my opinion.
For years now I haven't paid for Anti-virus and firewall. Between AVG anti virus http://free.grisoft.com and Zonealarm. You just can't go wrong. If you're running Windows XP with service pack 2 then you really don't need a firewall at all. The built in one has all the protection you really need for normal surfing.
And if you poke around this site you will find lot's of people that have problems because they use Norton or McAfee. Although this is just my opinion.
Hope this helps

I'm using a D-Link DSL Wireless Router (i'm connected to the internet by a cable BTW). But i'd like to have afirewall, an antivirus, antispam, privacy service, etc... to control evry content and every application that requires Internet. I've used NIS 2005 for mare than 6 months, but 1 month ago i tried the McAfee IS 2005. I'm only testing these two, cause as almost everybody says, thaey are the best all-in-one solutions. They are good in all aspects. But i'd like to know wich is better. NIS 2005 looks better, because it's simplier to use and upadate, but in terms of technical information and defence, which is better? I'd like to know in order to choose one to use from now on.
The firewall that comes with the SP2 isn't enough for me. I'm running P2P appliocations (Limewire) and i'd like to have a good defence against potential viruses that come with some files. And, by the other side, i don't trust freewares. If they are free, they cannot be better than the paid ones (NIS or McAfee IS). I know that ZoneAlarm is a good firewall, but the last time i used it, the computer crashed everytime i accessed the net.
The spyware is not a problem, cause i got the ad-aware professional, and Firefox avoids any spyware installation.

Well it seems your mind is made up. The best thing you can do at this point is to personally try both until you decide for yourself which is the best.

I just decided. I'll uninstall McAfee and keep Norton, it is simplier to use and looks better.
BTW. Thanks for the help.
