Evidently you have installed a prog that either requested you change icons or certain filetypes and you will need to reassociate those back to their original filetypes or maybe do a system restore to a date where they wer in the config you had.

To customize the default desktop icons:
Click Start , click Control Panel , click Appearance and Themes , and under Pick a task , click Change the desktop background. On the Desktop tab of the Display Properties dialog box, click Customize Desktop. In the Desktop Items dialog box, select the icon you want to change and click Change Icon . The Change Icon dialog box opens, which shows all icons in the currently selected file. In it, you can specify which icons are shown on the desktop by default. I selected the My Computer, My Documents, and Recycle Bin icons. To select from icons not currently displayed, click Browse, and in the Change Icon dialog box, navigate to the icons you downloaded, select the icon you want to use, click Open , and then click OK. In the Desktop Items dialog box, select the next icon you want to change and repeat steps 3–4. When you're finished changing the icons listed here, click OK , and in the Desktop Properties dialog box, click OK to apply the changes or it may have Folder options in which you can change or choose Restore Defaults

The Floppy one should be designated as a drive . Highlight the present folder icon in the list next to where it says Drive and then follow the prompts.

It would seem your icon cache is corrupted. It's a fairly common thing. You need to download tweak ui here:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/c/a/fca6767b-9ed9-45a6-b352-839afb2a2679/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe

once you set it up launch it and look for a section for rebuilding icons. It's in there but, i can't remember where. (and i'm sitting on a win2k box at the moment) this should solve your problems.

If it doesn't, there is a couple of scumware programs out there that cause this behaviour also. Make sure your AV is up to date and do a full system scan.
Also download adaware se personal edition from www.lavasoftusa.com and do a spyware scan. THe spyware scan should be done on a weekly basis and the AntiVirus scan should be done monthly. The internet is a bad place.

hope this helps
