Hello

I have a problem that I hope somebody can help me with.

I just bought a new computer, as I resived the computer windows XP was allready installed.

Since I have children I folled some suggestions I heard somewhere and created, accounts for the children with limited user ability, so they can not do something they should not do.

But as I started to install there programs it turned out that they(the children) can not run these programs in there accounts. I as a administrator to the computer can?
What is wrong? Is it not the whole purpose with these account setups that I as a administrator install the programs then the other accounts can use the programs?

When I start the program in one of these lower access acounts, the program stats up for like half a seccound and then shoots down, sometimes you resive a error sign that you have not the right to run this program.

Please help me. I have looked around and can not find any solution to the problem

Thank you, for your time and assistance

You need to set the programs up in your account (the one that has administrator privelidges) Then you can run the programs under the kids accounts. The limited access accounts are made so your kids will not set up programs without you knowing about it.

Log into your account then, setup the programs you want. Then log into the kids accounts and try running the programs from the start menu.

hope this helps

If you already set the programs up and the kids cannot run them, the reason is you didn't give the kids permission to use them. During setup of the programs the software should have asked you if you wanted all users to be able to use the programs or just you. If you chose just you then the limited user accounts will not be able to run them.

You may have to uninstall them and reinstall them to undo the settings.

You may be able to reconfigure their ops in Control Panel under user accounts and get it to work that way .Quite a tutorial there in itself...such as you can delete their current status and relog them in with privies to certain progs etc..
