Ok, so today i installed Panda platinum internet security 2005. everything installed just fine, but the problem happened when i restarted my computer.

I'm in a LAN split 3 ways, and when i booted my computer, i got the message saying "Limited or no connectivity". So nothing internet-related worked, and i couldn't access anything on the LAN. when i opened up panda, everything had an OK next to it, except i got an error on the Personal Firewall. it said to restart computer or reinstall to fix.

I restarted, no luck. I used the repair feature, no luck. Then i reinstalled panda, and i got the same message (limited or no connectivity and the error on the firewall). so i uninstalled it again, and this time i chose custom installation. i opted to have the personal firewall feature not install. the firewall did not install, but when i restarted, it still said limited or no connectivity

i scanned for viruses and whatnot.. it found some adware, and one virus. i tried reinstalling again, and no luck once again.. but i can't update the virus definitions because as soon as panda is installed, my connection to the LAN goes out. once panda is uninstalled, my connection on the LAN is fine

thanks to anyone who can help me

Well since no one has jumped on this all day I will attempt to help in a minuscule way to the effect that
1. I would dump the Panda prog and go for another however if ;you can reset your security settings to a lower setting in the prog (PANDA) before you reboot it may help and or install Panda while you are logged on to the net and last but not least make sure that your firewall and other net progs accept the new Panda prog.

With certain types of network cards and if the QoS service is enabled, network and Internet connections could be lost. This only happens in computers running Windows XP.

If the QoS service is disabled or the antivirus protection is uninstalled, the Internet connection is recovered.

In order to resolve this problem, apply hotfix hfp90412s6.exe to version 9.01.00 or 9.01.01 of Panda Platinum Internet Security.

Steps for applying the hotfix

Check which version you have installed.

In order to check the version of your antivirus, follow these steps:

Open Panda Platinum Internet Security 2005.
Check which version is installed.

The version is displayed at the top of the window and is usually in the following format: Panda Platinum Internet Security 2005 (9.XX.XX), where the Xs are numbers between 0 and 9.
If the version installed is prior to 9.01.00, you must update it to the latest version available from our client download area or by clicking here.

If you have forgotten your user details, click here to access the User name/Password reminder.
Install it without uninstalling the version you currently have installed.

By doing this, you will save the settings currently defined so that the antivirus updates automatically.
If you have version 9.01.00 or 9.01.01 of Panda Platinum Internet Security 2005, download the hfp90412s6.exe file by clicking on the link below:

Thanks for the replies, but i think there was another program interfering with panda. My old antivirus program wasn't fully uninstalled, there were some errors, so i went and deleted every registry key relating to that old antivirus, installed panda, and it worked without a fuss.

What was your former antivirus? Some AV companies have complete uninstallers for their product just in case something like that happens. If it was Norten then go to their website and download the rnav.exe to completely get rid of it.

Glad you got it working

old one was mcafee internet security suit. when i tried uninstalling things, it usually told me to uninstall all mcafee componants before uninstalling the main one, but it still told me that after everything was uninstalled..went to their site, followed the manual uninstall, and that worked

I just installed Panda on a Compaq Presario 2100 laptop with a Broadcom 802.1b/g WLAN wireless adapter. Everything had worked fine up to this point, and after I installed Panda, I too had the "Limited or no connectivity" problem. I installed the hotfix, as I had version 9.01.00, but that did not work. I still have the problem. Has anything else come out to fix this?

Might just be a conflict with Winddoze XP Firewall if its enabled . Ya might
disable it and see if that gets you going or if that doesn't do it enable it again and remove the Panda .To turn the XP Firewall on or off:

Windows XP Menu

Click on Windows Start
Move your mouse cursor to "Connect To" until it is highlighted
Right Click on the internet connection you use,
Click on Properties on the drop down menu that appears.
Click on the "Advanced" tab on the window that appears.
Under the first area called "Internet Connection Firewall" click on the box next to "protect my computer and network by limiting or preventing access to this computer from the internet" to put a check mark there to turn the firewall on.
To turn it off click on the same box to take the check mark out.
Click on Ok.

Classic Start Menu

Click on Windows Start
Click on Settings
Click on Network Connections
Right Click on your internet connection you use to connect to the internet..
Click on properties
Click on the "Advanced" tab on the window that appears.
Under the first area called "Internet Connection Firewall" click on the box next to "protect my computer and network by limiting or preventing access to this computer from the internet" to put a check mark there to turn the firewall on.
To turn it off click on the same box to take the check mark out.
Click on Ok.

This should be posted as a new thread in the software section.

The windows firewall was disabled. I applied every fix known to man. I then unistalled Panda, and I connect just fine right now. I will try a reinstall, but if that does not work, I guess I just can't use Panda.

Good idea and try another prog like AVG available here

Grisoft moved the free version of AVG. You'll go bald if you try finding it there. The new address is http://free.grisoft.com

Another alternative is Anti-Vir. I like it just as well as AVG. If you have an older machine I recommend it. www.free-av.com

I'm seeing this problem all over the web. From what I'm seeing is you can still connect and alot of people are just shutting off the message. The other thing i'm seeing is to use a static IP address instead of letting your router hand out an address via dhcp. So you may want to try using a static IP address instead, if your not already.

here is some more stuff I found:

Also (which I'll bet you already have...)run through this checklist

I've never seen this fix for this problem but, hey Epurvee give it a try and let us know if it works. Unless you've already solved it. If you did let us know what fixed it so others can benefit.

Yes currently panda 2005 platinum works on my pc without limited connection. If you use Qos timing packeting etc., you must suffer from limited connection under xp. I removed Qos packeting timing procedure and everythink goes ok. Try and reboot only. No need complex procedure SP2 removing etc. Problem is from Qos packet timing procedure. Do not harm your soft ware tring to oad and remove again and again. Please try what I say.

This issue is known with Panda Platinum Internet Security 2005 (I support this product specifically) It occurs if you have the Quality of Service for your connection turned on (QoS). You don't actually need to turn of QoS, though that may restore connectivity. Instead, uninstall the Panda product, and download the latest version from Panda's website. To do this, go to http://www.pandasoftware.com and click on the link to "Downloads for clients" on the left side under "Most visited pages". Under "New Software Versions" there will be a link to "Download Product". Click on that and enter the username and password combination that you have for your product. There should be a Software Master listed on the next page. Download and run this program to install the latest version of the product. If your problem stems from this issue, or several others fixed in the updated program, your connectivity should be restored.

Hope this helps.

P.S. I don't work for Panda directly :)
