My parent's computer is not able to connect to the internet as a result of "limited or no connectivity." I have reset the modem and wireless router properly, but it's not doing anything. I was wondering if there was anything I could do. I'll appreciate any help. :)
Maybe the security setting in IE is set too high? That is assuming you use IE however. Maybe try setting all defaults in IE to fix it?

do you guys run any sort of firewall or third party programs on your computer you think might be involved with your internet connection?

No third party programs, but we do have a firewall on. I tried turning it off, but it still didn't work...

Always check to see if all the wires are plugged in all the way and also if there where their supposed to be. I've had countless friends say stuff like this but they just had one wire where it wasn't supposed to be. but other then that i don't know what else, as a last resort you could contact you ISP's tech support.

I've already done both...still giving me problems. :o\
Maybe the router is not giving up DNS and Gateway info? If DHCP is off and you have static IPs, make sure the gateway is correct.
We're trying.

We called the computer's support number and found out the IP address was automatically switching to one that did not work. Thanx for trying to help, everyone. :)

I've seen this problem before. You need to force your NIC to speed. If your connection is a 10/100 mb ethernet. You need to go into device manager and then look under network adaptors and then double click on the network card that's installed. When the properties box comes up go to the advanced tab and look in the list or the drop down box (they are all different and look for the speed) Set it to 100Mbps full duplex and click apply. exit device manager and reboot and see if the problem goes away. Usually this problem is caused with XP. When autodetect speed is chosen for the NIC's XP tends to try to renegotiate the speed every so often, resulting in disconnections and limited connectivity.
Hope this helps

I finally figured it all out. My sister set up/networked our wireless router incorrectly...so when wireless computers were in use, the main computer had limited connectivity. I made sure everything was plugged into the right place, and all computers work. Again..thanks for the help, everyone. :)
