Well so far i've contacted the manufactuer of my video card about the replacement and the cards warranty so hopefully he'll call back by tomrrow *fingers crossed*

And come to think of it i won't be seeing a new computer for a LONG time so i thought i'd just upgrade the processor and add in some new RAM.

Here's a link to exactly how my machine is except that i am or was running a GeForce4 Ti 4200 and i upgraded the memory from 128MB SDRAM PC100 to 384MB: http://www.epinions.com/Compaq_Presario_5001CL_Duron_1_1GHz___60GB___128MB ___WinMe___Desktop__Desktops_D70004_922_101/display_~full_specs

My question is:
I need help choosing the right processor, and if possible i might want to swap out my mainboard for a newer one, and if so i need help looking for one that's compatible with my system (ie size, powersupply, space, etc etc).

Thanks Mates :)

I'm not so sure ya can swap the MoBo on that. However a bare bone all in one can be had for under 300 I'm sure.

i had a feeling : \ although i feel like a moron refering to a fact sheet it says my system is capable of handling an upgrade to a more faster processor. Can you point me in the right direction?

I'm still not too savy with all the technical stuff but the physical aspect such as building a computer or upgrading parts is simple.

Ok, that may be possible, but not economical. I was referring to the motherboard swap.

Let me see what I can get systems for this week tomorrow and it will give your a reference point. I think there is some inexpensive stuff to be had that is not too bad.

Is this compact a slot A Athlon or a Socket A athlon. If it's a socket A you might be able to upgrade the processor. For now I would just load it with as much ram as possible. PM me about a video card if you wish.
