recently i built myown computer.. pos made of used parts, but it was free.. ive got my own network set up.. modem.. wireless router.. and computer and xbox. ive got the wireless xbox adapter also, my brother has recently lost interest to it.. so i thought up an idea to use the wireless adapter and put it on my newly built computer( i ahve two computers) the one is hardwired, but i want the other one wirelessly in my room, so i was going to hook up the xbox wireless adapter.. to the one computer and sorta use it as a wireless nic,... i already have a nic card in it everything... argh... anyone help
?but im not sure how that would work? any one with ideas.. or if this can even be done? thjanks.

Is this an internal device or is it a black box that plugs into the Xbox with an Xbox cable?

black box that plugs into xbox threw ethernet wire

So this black box plugs into the xbox ethernet port instead of a wire to the hub?

If that's the case it may work, however I do not recommend that you try it on my word, I'm not an xbox expert.

The Xbox configuration is black box (if you'll forgive the pun). The included CD is not in a PC readable format, and the MN-740 lacks a Web-based configuration option. However, once it's been configured it seems to function normally no matter what kind of device it's connected to. The status light on the MN-740 that indicates the device link on the Ethernet port is labeled "Xbox", but I figured the device wouldn't really know or care what was on the other end of the cable. For example, after successfully using the MN-740 with the Xbox, I connected it to a PC Ethernet port and it worked there as well.

So... Set it up for your pc's configuration on the xbox then move it to the pc and you should be happening.

hope this helps
