View Full Version : Logo Contest
We need a really nice logo for the top of the forum.
If any of you aspiring artistis would like to submit a logo for us to fly, let's let the members pick the best one.
Thanks!
Not really, I'm not even sure words are necessary.
If ya include words use...
"lakecs.com"
or
"Lake Computer Specialists"
The size should be approximatly the existing logo's size. It does not have to be a perfect rectangle. It should have a color scheme that matches as well.
Lets up the stakes here...We need a really nice logo for the top of the forum. Would a custom watch with your winning logo on it be incentive enough to get some entries into this Contest???

You should be able to post you image here.
If you have any problems just post the issue and we'll fix it.
Thanks
This seems to be a forgotten topic, let me bump it up by giving more details.
How it works:
A> read this post
B> hmm....dream up idea
C> draw, paint, photo, or create graphics. (yes even the graphically challenged can enter)
D> submit art, photo,or geek sheet
E> vote on your favorite
F> use hexes, voodoo, witchcraft, or pray that your design wins
G> bask in the glory
H> get quartz watch with your winning logo printed on dial
I> wear watch and constantly tell the current time to friends as you brag about winning.
Do NOT use copywrited material.
Do NOT whine about losing.
Do NOT hold beer posts against me.
DO understand that all entries are owned by Lake Computer Specialists.
DO understand there will be a 6 to 8 week delivery time for watch.
DO understand that in some states you may have other rights that you do not have here and your mileage may vary.

Maybe a little overdone (I get carried away with Photoshop sometimes)... But figured someone ought to at least try...

I like 2b alot.
Yeah 2B is close to perfect. I dunno if I like the www stuff at the bottom though.
I like the "marbled" look. I also hope someone else steps up to try! Mojo, I will be shot down here but that look with a malachite green or a lapis blue would be awsome!

My mom never bought me that really big crayola box and I guess I am now sort of "hue-challenged". I have no idea what malachite green or lapis blue is...

However, if you post a "swatch/sample" of these colors you can easily match any color with photoshop...

For matching colours.. there is nothing better than this little app
http://www.nattyware.com/pixie.html
you don't even need to grab the image/swatch, just hover the mouse over the colour anywhere on your screen.
Oh, and did I mention it's FREE :)

That sounds like a neat freeware app. Thanks for the info. I always kind of "eye it" or use the "eyedropper" from photoshop on a sample image (which does the same sort of thing as your app in a convoluted way)...
Colours, huh? Are you a limey by chance? I also noticed that you used the phrase "while at University" in an earlier post which is also definitely an English term.
It always seemed kind of odd to me that it took a concerted effort from the Americans to fix the Queen's English and figure out how to speak it properly.
:D :D :D
